Pasting Ledger Account Strings from Excel to Dynamics AX

When pasting a ledger account string from Excel into Microsoft Dynamics AX, Dynamics AX looks for the last dash to indicate the end of the account string. In the Excel screenshot below, this is the account string that should be pasted to Dynamics AX.

When the account string is copied and then pasted into a journal line in Dynamics AX, the last dimension of the ledger string will drop off, as noted by the red “squiggly” line below.

In the next screenshot, the dash has been added to the end of the account string.

The entire string is retained when it is copied and pasted into Dynamics AX. The last dimension is not dropped.
